Mr. Swamy Khoday

Mr. Swamy Khoday is a well-known industrialist and philanthropist from Bengaluru, and the founder of Khoday’s CIMR. As Executive Director and Joint Managing Director of Khoday India Limited, one of Karnataka's most established business houses with extensive brewing and distilling operations, he has spent decades building enterprises across the state. Yet it is his conviction in the healing potential of nature that led to the creation of Khoday’s CIMR.

More than thirty years ago, long before it drew scientific attention, Mr. Khoday recognised the medicinal promise of Simarouba glauca, the Laxmi Taru. Driven by a deep personal belief in its potential for cancer care, he began cultivating the plant on the outskirts of Bengaluru, nurturing what has since grown into a naturally preserved forest spanning several acres. Today that forest stands as a living germplasm and conservation site for this unique medicinal plant.

His vision did not stop at cultivation. Determined to hold traditional medicine to the highest scientific standard, Mr. Khoday sought partnership with Dr. G. Padmanaban, one of India's most distinguished biochemists, and in 2018 initiated a formal, multidisciplinary research collaboration with Dabur Research Foundation. That work led to Cypro, a standardised herbaceutical born from his original conviction.

Khoday’s CIMR is the continuation of that vision: a centre where traditional wisdom and modern science meet, held together by the belief that guided Mr. Khoday from the beginning, that nature, studied with rigour, has much to offer human health.

Clinician & Researcher Integrative oncology

Dr. K. G. Padmanabhan

Dr. K. G. Padmanabhan is a clinician, researcher and healthcare innovator with a strong focus on Integrative Medicine and specialised expertise in Integrative Oncology, clinical research, phytopharmaceutical development and regenerative medicine. His work brings together conventional medical science, emerging therapeutic technologies and evidence-based complementary approaches to explore new possibilities in the management of complex diseases.

He is actively involved in clinical research and translational medicine, with particular interest in developing novel therapeutic strategies that can progress from laboratory research to clinical application. His research spans plant-derived therapeutic compounds, immunotherapy, cellular therapies, exosome-based technologies, peptide-based approaches and regenerative medicine, with a major focus on medicinal plants and their bioactive constituents for potential applications in cancer care.

Clinical research

Dr. Padmanabhan works on clinical trial development and translational clinical research in collaboration with leading cancer institutions and research organisations. His approach emphasises protocol-driven investigation, systematic collection of clinical and laboratory data, and the translation of promising preclinical findings into clinically relevant research programmes.
